A man has been charged after allegedly escaping a NSW prison, stealing a car and running into two police vehicles.
The 31-year-old allegedly fled a correctional centre at Aldavilla, near West Kempsey on Tuesday morning.
Police say he was arrested about 60km away at a rural property near Wauchope where it is alleged a stolen SUV hit police cars around 4pm.
The man is due to face Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday charged with a string of offences including escaping lawful custody and possessing a prohibited drug.
The arrest comes as another prisoner, who was last seen on Monday afternoon, remains on the run.

Officers noticed Steven Barber, 39, was missing and that his window was smashed at the minimum security correctional centre in Glenn Innes around 1am on Tuesday.
Barber is described as being of Caucasian appearance, up to 185cm tall and with a medium build.
He has short brown hair, tattoos of boxing gloves on his back and a tattoo of a snake on his left forearm, police say.
Barber is not believed to be a threat, but police are warning local communities not to approach him, but to call triple-zero immediately.
