NSW cricket captain Moises Henriques anticipates a WACA wicket which will produce an outright result in their final round Sheffield Shield cricket match.

NSW Blues cricket captain Moises Henriques expects a result wicket for this week's critical Sheffield Shield match against a fighting WA side.

The Blues head over to the final round game in Perth in second spot and in prime position to play first-placed Victoria in the final.

An outright victory over fifth-placed WA in the game starting at the WACA on Friday, would almost certainly guarantee NSW a final spot.

However, either the Bulls or Redbacks could still conceivably overhaul them by winning outright and collecting more bonus points.

WA must beat NSW outright to have any chance of making the final, which Henriques believes will influence the type of wicket being prepared for the game.

"The last game (win over SA) was very important for us because we knew if we were behind WA going over there, they might have prepared a slightly different wicket," Henriques said on Monday.

"So it's good to know that we're going to have a wicket that I think there will more than likely be a result (on).

"Knowing the way both teams play, both teams will be striving for a result as well."

NSW will head west without strike paceman Pat Cummins, who has been called into the Australian Test squad in India.

Henriques was confident NSW had the pace resources to thrive in Perth without Cummins, who has only played one Shield game in six years due to injury.

"We've got some pretty good guys who have done the work for us all season, so they were pretty stiff to miss out last game when Patty came in," Henriques said.

"They will get a deserved crack in the next game now that he is gone, guys like Harry Conway and Sean Abbott."
