NSW man arrested over import of 6000 pills

Police have arrested a man outside a post office on the NSW south coast for allegedly importing 6000 prescription pills.

A man has been charged after 6000 pills were allegedly delivered to a post-office box on the NSW south coast.

Police arrested the 47-year-old outside a post office in Nowra on Wednesday morning.

It's alleged he imported two packages containing prescription drugs, NSW Police said in a statement on Thursday.

The pills are believed to be diazepam, or valium, a common sedative.

Officers allegedly seized computers, documents, and more tablets during a raid on a nearby home.

The man was charged with two counts of importing prohibited tier-two drugs.

He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Thursday.
