A man has been charged in relation to the alleged theft of more than 150 goats from NSW's far west.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man on Friday and charged him with two counts of stealing stock and one count of malicious damage following an investigation into the alleged theft of goats from a paddock near Cobar in February this year.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Saturday.
