A NSW man accused of bashing a woman to death at her southern Sydney home has been charged with her murder.
The 51-year-old was charged at Queanbeyan Police Station on Thursday and is also facing charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and contravening and apprehended domestic violence order.
Tina Kontozis, also 51, was found dead at Bundeena on Sunday afternoon. It's believed she was bludgeoned with a cricket bat.
Her 17-year-old son was taken to hospital with arm injuries police have indicated are consistent with defence wounds.
Their alleged attacker, who was sought by police for 24 hours following the killing, was arrested after a pursuit that ended with him crashing his car into an embankment in Braidwood on Monday.
On Thursday, he was discharged from Canberra Hospital following treatment for jaw and neck injuries and extradited from the ACT to be re-arrested and charged.
The man was formally refused bail and is due to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court on Friday.
