A man accused of repeatedly stabbing his partner in Sydney's south west is due to face court.

Police say the 20-year-old man argued with his partner at their home in Revesby in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He allegedly punched and kicked the 22-year-old woman, before stabbing her five times in the upper body at about 4am.

He allegedly continued to abuse the woman until about 3pm, until she was able to flee the house and go to police.

The woman was taken to Liverpool Hospital and the man was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
