The girl, then aged seven years old, was one of two sisters who had their genitals cut during separate procedures in NSW in 2010 and 2012, the crown says.

The girls' mother, as well as a "community nurse" faced trial in the Supreme Court on Monday on charges of genital mutilation.

A high-ranking member of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Shabbir Mohammedbhai Vaziri, is accused of being an accessory after the fact after he allegedly assisted those involved.

The trio have pleaded not guilty.
