A Sydney man killed in India after his motorbike was hit by a bus was doing what he loved, according to his family.
Matthew Ridley, 26, was named by family members on social media on Friday and remembered by friends as fun-loving and warm with a love for travel.
Mr Ridley had just started a trip around India with two fellow motorbike enthusiasts when he was hit by the bus on the outskirts of the capital New Delhi.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
His sister Tara Ridley confirmed the news in a Facebook post, saying it was an "excruciating" time for the family.
"He died in a tragic, freak accident in Delhi, India doing what he loved - riding motorbikes and travelling," Ms Ridley said.
Ms Ridley said she expected it may take some time to get her brother home from India.
Friends also took to social media to express their disbelief, describing the 26-year-old as "fun-loving", "warm", and a "clever young man".
A colleague said he was taken far too soon during his "trip of a lifetime".
The Department of Foreign Affairs said it was providing consular assistance to the Ridley family.
