NSW mutilating killer to hit big screen

A film is set to be made about NSW killer Katherine Knight, who murdered and mutilated her de facto husband John Price in 2000.

Katherine Knight lived a seemingly ordinary life, until the day she stabbed her de facto husband 37 times, skinned and decapitated him and tried to serve his cooked flesh to his children for dinner.

Sixteen years have passed since 44-year-old John Price was murdered and mutilated in his home in Aberdeen, in the NSW Hunter Valley, by the former abattoir worker who received a life sentence.

The horrifying story will be told in a feature film by Australian screenwriters Dale Miller and Ross Murray with plans for a percentage of the profits to be donated to support domestic violence victims.

* National domestic violence helpline: 1800 737 732 or 1800RESPECT. In an emergency, call triple-zero.
