NSW pair charged over malnourished 4-year-old

A man and woman have been charged and two children removed from their care after a four-year-old girl was allegedly discovered malnourished in NSW's south.

A man and woman have been charged after police allegedly discovered an emaciated four-year-old girl at a home on the NSW south coast.

A member of the public contacted police on December 12 with concerns for the Nowra child, who was taken to hospital where she has been receiving treatment for severe malnutrition.

Police charged a man, 34, and woman, 25, with failing to provide for a child causing danger of death.

The pair were given conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on January 18.

The four-year-old girl, along with her one-year-old sister, have been removed from their care.
