NSW police appeal after man dies on train

Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man, believed to be in his 60s, who died after falling ill on a Sydney train.

A man who fell ill on a train heading to southwest Sydney has died and police are appealing for help.

The man, who police have been unable to identify, was travelling on a train heading to Liverpool about 6.20pm on Friday when he became unwell.

Passengers alerted a guard as it neared Leightonfield Railway Station and waiting paramedics took him to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

Police say the circumstances of his death are not suspicious but are asking for help to identify the man.

He is described as being about 65, of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with a large build, 170-175 centimetres tall and with medium length grey/black curly hair.
