NSW have qualified for their 21st straight Women's National Cricket League final, defeating ACT in Sydney on Sunday in a must-win match to earn the rights to face minor premiers Queensland.
The Breakers, who lost last season's decider for the first time since 2004-05, have never missed a final since the introduction of the 50-over competition in 1996-97.
However that record threatened to be taken away from them after they were beaten by Victoria on Friday without their three Australian representatives - Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy and Alex Blackwell.
Two former Breakers - Angela Reakes and Erin Osbourne - then appeared set to end the team's streak in the final round on Sunday.
The pair combined for a 122-run fifth-wicket partnership for ACT, in pursuit of the Breakers' score of 201.
However the Meteors then crashed to lose 6-25 and a 13-run defeat, ending their own finals hopes.
Queensland will host the final on December 3, with both teams set to regain their national stars for the clash.
