NSW teen recovers after stabbing

A 17-year-old boy who was stabbed in Kiama after a fight broke out between a group of teens, remains in a Sydney hospital in a stable condition.

A teenage boy is recovering in a Sydney hospital after he was stabbed in the chest with a knife at a railway station at Kiama, south of Wollongong.

A fight broke out between a group of teenagers on Monday evening and a 17-year-old was allegedly stabbed by another teenager after being chased to a nearby street.

Police say the injured teen was airlifted to St George Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 17-year-old was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and having a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and is due to face a children's court on Tuesday.
