The NSW treasurer has taken credit for the federal government guaranteeing no state or territory will be worse off under changes to the GST distribution stating "we have won a great result".
Dominic Perrottet had with other state and territory treasurers lobbied for the guarantee to be legislated along with laws which will put a 75-cent floor in GST payments.
"We have stood shoulder to shoulder to ensure that this change be effected," Mr Perrottet told reporters in Sydney.
"We've argued the case that no state should be worse off as a result of these changes. We've taken the case to Canberra and today we have won a great result for the people of NSW."
Mr Perrottet remains angry that NSW - in his view - continues to subsidise inefficient states and those like Western Australia who don't plan for the future.

"The people of NSW continue to subsidise lazy states, inefficient states, who don't reform," he said on Tuesday.
"We will continue to prosecute that case."
