NSW woman dies after Gold Coast car crash

The Easter Weekend toll on Queensland roads has risen with a woman dead in a Gold Coast hospital after the car she was a passenger in rolled several times.

A woman has died after the car she was a passenger in left a Gold Coast road and rolled in the early hours of Good Friday.

The woman, 28, and the male driver, 40, (both from NSW) were heading north on the Pacific Highway when the Holden Commodore they were travelling in rolled several times about 2am, police say.

The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition but died from her injuries.

Earlier, police said a man died in Brisbane after the motorbike he was riding crashed early on Good Friday.

The 26-year-old Cornubia man died at the scene in Bulimba about 5.30am.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and the forensic Crash Unit are investigating if the bike slipped over on a wet road.
