NSW youth charged with sex assault

Police have charged a NSW teenager with sexually assaulting a young girl at Woolgoolga, in the state's north.

A NSW teenager has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl younger than 10-years-old.

The alleged attack happened at Woolgoolga, in the state's north, in mid January, police say.

The youth was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with having sexual intercourse with a child under 10 years and one count of indecent assault of a child under 16 years.

Bail has been refused, with the boy due before a court on Saturday.
