NSW Rugby League maintain no call has been made around Laurie Daley coaching the Blues next year, expecting the board's decision to take weeks.
The NSWRL board met on Friday to commence its review into this year's State of Origin loss to Queensland, but said no outcomes were produced.
The review will be on-going over coming weeks, chairman George Peponis said in a statement.
The board's inquiry comes after Daley, NSWRL chief David Trodden and football boss BJ Mather conducted an initial review after the game three loss.
It's reported Daley will be offered a one-year contract extension to coach in 2018 despite four series losses in five years, but it's unknown if Daley wants the gig amid the fallout from this year's loss.
The disastrous capitulation to Queensland in this month's deciding clash has divided opinion on whether he should keep his job and was followed by questions over the Blues' culture.
NSW forward Aaron Woods has backed Daley to stay on and centre Jarryd Hayne said it'd be a huge loss if he wasn't reappointed.
But former Blues coach Phil Gould described the coach as "cooked" and claimed there were too many people making decisions involving the team, with Daley's role reduced to a "bit player".
