Two men have been accused of smuggling a boat full of beer and hard liquor into the Northern Territory's Tiwi Islands, where alcohol is banned.

More than 300 cans of beer, three litres of rum and a litre of vodka were smuggled by boat onto Melville Island on Tuesday, police say.

The boat and a four-wheel drive were seized and the men, aged 34 and 41, have been bailed to appear in Pularumpi Court on January 21.
