Federal Labor MP Luke Gosling will continue to use an image of himself in uniform despite Defence frowning on such practices during election campaigns.
The Australian Defence Force has a policy banning members from participating in political activity in uniform without approval.
A spokesman for Mr Gosling's re-election campaign the Northern Territory News there was no issue as the MP for Solomon was no longer serving in the reserves.
"The image reflects Mr Gosling's background and service to the nation," the spokesman said.
