NT prisoner flees work bus

A man imprisoned for aggravated robbery is on the run after ditching the prison work bus he was driving in the Northern Territory.

An inmate has escaped from a prison work bus in the Northern Territory.

Gavin Rankin, 49, was driving the bus and dropping prisoners at work in Darwin when he ditched the vehicle on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

Rankin, who is serving a sentence for aggravated robbery, remains on the run.
