Northern Territory Police will search bushland south of Darwin for a 40-year-old man who has been missing since November last year.

Police say they fear Richard Roe may now be dead.

Officers and other emergency service personnel will converge on an area near Chinner Road and the Stuart Highway on Saturday, near where Mr Roe was last seen and where his Holden Commodore was found abandoned.

"This area, which was initially searched in December 2016, continues to be an area of interest for investigators," Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said.

He said police had received help from the public about Mr Roe's disappearance but believed there were more people with vital information.

"These past few months have been undoubtedly emotional for Richard's family who, like police, are searching for answers," detective Bentley said.
