An Indian nurse at the main hospital in the Iraqi city of Tikrit says Iraqi nurses stopped coming to work after the city fell to ISIS gunmen.

The hometown of the late leader Sadam Hussein was captured last week by the advancing militants, leaving scores of foreign workers stranded.

The nurse, who is one of 46 Indian staff stationed at the hospital, says hospital management asked them to remain at work.

She doesn't want to be named out of fear for her own security, but told Deeju Sivadas from SBS Radio's Malaylam program she hopes to return home soon.
