NZ bats dominate in 2nd Zimbabwe Test

New Zealand are 0-101 at lunch on day one of the second Test against Zimbabwe after winning the toss in Bulawayo.

New Zealand openers Martin Guptill and Tom Latham have put the tourists on top early in the second Test against Zimbabwe, reaching 101 without loss at lunch on the Saturday's first day.

After New Zealand won the toss, Guptill was not out 49 while Latham was unbeaten on 42 after 28 overs on a Queens Sports Club wicket good for batting.

Zimbabwe's bowlers toiled on a flat deck which offered little pace, as Guptill and Latham took full advantage with a wide range of shots around the ground.

New Zealand are looking to seal the series after winning the first Test by an innings and 117 runs at the same venue.

Zimbabwe, missing senior batsman Hamilton Masakadza through a back strain, gave a Test debut to wicketkeeper Peter Moor. New Zealand were unchanged.
