Former White Ferns captain Debbie Hockley has been elected the first female president in New Zealand Cricket's 122-year history.
Hockley's three-year appointment was confirmed at NZC's annual meeting in Christchurch on Wednesday. She replaces outgoing president Stephen Boock.
In a career spanning over 20 years, Hockley represented New Zealand in 19 Tests and accumulated 1301 runs at an average of 52.04 after making her debut in 1979.
She also played in 118 one-day internationals, amassing 4064 runs at an average of 41.89.
Another former White Fern, Ingrid Cronin-Knight, has been appointed as an NZC director.
She replaces Stuart Heal, who has stepped down after eight years on the NZC board, including the past three as chairman.
Currently serving an internship on the board of Watercare, Cronin-Knight has broad management experience in digital technology, marketing, strategy and change management.
She is a founding member of Women in Sport Aotearoa.
At the first meeting of the new board, held directly after the conclusion of the annual meeting, director Greg Barclay was elected NZC chairman.
Barclay is an Auckland-based commercial lawyer and an experienced company director.
Over the past two years, he has acted as NZC's appointee to the board of the ICC.
