A group of New Zealand firefighters have made sure this Christmas isn't the last for a flock of ducklings.
The Christchurch firies rescued eight ducklings trapped down a drain on Christmas morning, after receiving a call from a young woman who wandered across a worried mother duck pacing around the drain.
"The young woman was pleased and the mother duck was pleased too - she waddled away with ducklings in tow," St Albans fire station officer Peter McArdle said.
