Two babies are among the first four confirmed victims of the Christchurch earthquake. Police have released the names of the first four victims. They are:

Jayden Harris, nine months, of Christchurch

Baxter Gowland, five months of Christchurch.

Joseph Tehau Pohio, 40, of Christchurch

Jaime Robert McDowell Gilbert, 22, of Christchurch

Police say no other names are being released at present.

They say they have 98 bodies in a temporary morgue, but the death toll is expected to climb, with concerns for 226 people reported missing.
