Obama vows to work with Republicans after midterm loss

United States President Barack Obama has promised to work with Republicans after the resounding loss for his Democratic party in the midterm elections.

For the first time since he took office, Mr Obama will now have to face a hostile Senate and lower house.

And that's likely to make his final two years as President even more difficult.
