Officials await Sydney Legionnaires' tests

Results of tests on cooling towers suspected of being the source of a Sydney Legionnaire's outbreak are expected to be returned next week.

Health authorities are awaiting laboratory results following an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease in Sydney's CBD.

Two women and an elderly man were hospitalised after they started showing symptoms for the lung infection last week.

One of the women, aged in her 30s, is in a critical condition.

City of Sydney and public health officers have been inspecting cooling towers in the area and say results are expected next week.

The latest outbreak, announced on Wednesday, comes after an elderly man died from the disease in March.
