One dead, two injured in Vic crash

One person is dead, and another two are injured after a car hit a pole on Taylors Road, Delahey, in Melbourne's northwest.

A female passenger has died, and a man and woman are in hospital following a car accident in Melbourne's northwest.

The car was travelling on Taylors Road when it crashed into a light pole at Delahey about 1am (AEDT) on Monday, police said.

A female passenger died at the scene, while the driver and another female passenger with non-life threatening injuries were taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The death brings the latest Victorian road toll to 31, compared to 25 at the same time last year.
