Newly elected One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts says he's already received phone calls from both the prime minister and the attorney-general.
Senator Roberts was declared on Thursday one of 11 crossbenchers the Turnbull government will have to work with to pass legislation in the upper house, with Pauline Hanson's One Nation picking up four of those spots.
He described the phone calls as "very gracious" before telling journalists in Brisbane he'd judge Mr Turnbull once he'd had a chance to get to know him.
