One-punch killer Nicholas Lambaditis has lost his appeal against a minimum six years and nine months jail sentence for assaulting a student outside a Sydney pub.

Lambaditis was in an "angry state of mind" when he struck Brazilian Lucio Stein Rodrigues in the early hours of November 3, 2013, fuelled up on booze after drinking at his cousin's bucks party.

Two days later the 34-year-old died and Lambaditis, 35, was last June sentenced to a maximum of nine years behind bars and remains eligible for release in August 2020 after his appeal was dismissed in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal on Friday morning.
