A new website has been set up to find people to work briefly for busy professionals who don't have the time to do everyday tasks and who can pay a small fee for someone else to do it.
"Airtasker is a community marketplace. What we do is we connect up people in the community who need help with everyday chores and errands. And we connect them up with people who want to run these tasks to earn some extra cash," Tim Fung, Airtasker CEO told SBS.
Most jobs posted on Airtasker are everyday chores like lawn-mowing or grocery pick-up and delivery, but some requests are more quirky.
"They wanted someone to write a poem that they would dedicate to their wife. They want someone to include certain words that would go up into that poem," Mr Fung said.
Launched just nine weeks ago, the website which targets Melbourne and Sydney users has already received $1.5 million of funding through private investors.

But critics question the business model.
"If a lot of people get on board this thing, there'll be money in it because they take a small percentage essentially of every task that is complete, but at the level that it's at now it's very smal. There won't be a lot of money in this at all, " technology commentator Trevor Long said.
