The girlfriend of Chris Boyd - whose gruesome death sparked Western Australia's controversial shark kill policy - has been threatened online by "anti-cull" protester.
On Sunday, Krystle Westwood will speak publicly for the first time about the loss of Mr Boyd, who was attacked and killed by a great white shark in the waters off Gracetown in November.
In a interview with the Nine Network's 60 Minutes, Ms Westwood is set to describe her horror and loss following Mr Boyd's death at the Umbies surf break they both considered their favourite.
She will also reveal that since Mr Boyd's death, she has received disturbing messages from people opposed to the WA policy.
Journalist Michael Usher said Ms Westwood had clearly been upset by the unwanted attention she had received at a time of huge grief.
"She is still in deep shock, and when she thinks about the brutality of the attack it makes her feel sick," Mr Usher told AAP.
"But she has also received direct threats on social media from people against the "cull", which have really affected her."
Ms Westwood has since returned to the water to surf, with the support of friends, but not at Umbies.
On Thursday, WA Fisheries officers caught and killed a three-metres plus shark for the first time since the policy was enacted.
And WA Premier Colin Barnett, who also features in the 60 Minutes story, said again on Thursday that the extremity of opinion about the policy had surprised him.
"I am both surprised and disappointed by the resort to violence, threats and intimidation by the more extreme protesters. They are bringing into disrespect the more responsible environmentalists," Mr Barnett said.
"I still believe a silent majority of people believe the Government is taking (sic) the right decisions, even though they may be unpopular."
The premier said figures on the number of sharks killed would be released early next week.
on Thursday, Surf Life Saving WA said four sharks had been caught and released from Perth drumlines - a 2.12m tiger shark at Leighton, a 2.7m tiger shark at Floreat, a 2.3m tiger shark 1500m off Floreat and a 2.2m tiger shark at Mullaloo.
