It's "only a matter of time" before police find a camouflage-wearing man who sexually assaulted a girl and tried to abduct a teenager on the NSW Central Coast.
It's believed the same man dragged a 12-year-old girl into bushland, tied her up and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint on May 15 and three weeks later grabbed an 18-year-old woman around the neck in a laneway near Narara train station.
Both girls described their attacker as being aged in his mid-20s, chubby, with light hair and blue eyes.
"It's only a matter of time before we arrest you," Sex Crimes Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Linda Howlett said on Sunday.
"There are a number of people we're actually looking at and speaking to as well."

With the help of the teens police have pieced together what he was wearing - a distinctive head-to-toe leafy camouflage outfit, backpack and gloves.
"The offender went to a fair amount of trouble to wear that particular outfit, obviously wanting to disguise his identity," Det Supt Howlett said.
Detectives believe the man changed into the camouflage suit and hat at the crime scene because he was wearing other clothes underneath.
They're appealing for anyone who might know someone with that particular outfit.
"You might not have knowledge about the sexual assault itself but if you're aware of anyone - a neighbour, a friend - who has an outfit like that and in particular the hat if they can contact police," Det Supt Howlett said.
She said the man is likely to be familiar with the Narara area and the community is on high alert.
"They should be worried, that's why we're seeking public assistance," she said.
"The concern that we do have is that he's still out in the community... and he might be prepared to assault another victim."
She said police are also pursuing leads using forensic evidence.
"We have forensic evidence at the moment, and obviously we're making further enquiries about that."
