Telecom operator Optus has struck a partnership with car riding service Uber, which includes an in-car wi-fi trial across Sydney and Melbourne.
Uber will put Optus prepaid wi-fi in 100 vehicles across their fleet in a six-week trial, an Optus spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Uber wasn't immediately available to comment on its plans after the in-car wi-fi trial, which will allow up to 10 devices to be connected at the same time.
Under the partnership, Optus staff will also be able use Uber for work travel, in addition to traditional transport options.
The two companies have previously joined forces on an Australia Day campaign in which cricket umpire Billy Bowden and a team of umpires officiated in backyard cricket matches across the nation.
