Original Sapphire recalls her time in Vietnam

One of the original members of The Sapphires, chronicled in an indigenous film that has just been screened at the Cannes Film Festival, recalls her time singing for troops in Vietnam.

An indigenous film chronicling the lives of a group of young Indigenous soul singers has drawn strong reviews after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

The film, The Sapphires, tells the story of four women plucked from a remote indigenous community to sing for Australian troops while serving in Vietnam in the 1960s.
