Orora makes trading debut on ASX

Shares in Australasian packaging firm Orora have been moving upward on their debut on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Shares in Australasian packaging spin-off Orora have made a positive start in their trading debut on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Orora shares were $1.215 at 1341 AEDT, with 12.35 million shares having changed hands.

The shares opened at $1.16 and have traded within a range of $1.13 to $1.215.

Orara was formerly the Australasia and Packaging Distribution (AAPD) business of Amcor.

Amcor announced in August that it would split AAPD from the rest of its operations.

Orora will focus on the fibre, glass and beverage can packaging markets in Australia and New Zealand, plus packaging distribution in North America and Australia.

The new Amcor will focus on making flexible and rigid plastic packaging and tobacco packaging mostly for overseas market.

Shares in Amcor were $1.13 lower at $10.23 at 1356 AEDT.
