Swastikas have been found scrawled across a New York City playground for the second time in three days as a special police hate crime task force investigates the anti-Semitic graffiti.
The first set of swastikas, accompanied with a Nazi eagle and the words "Heil Hitler" (sic), were found on Friday morning in chalk on a pavement in Queens.
The second set was found between Sunday and Monday morning (US time) near Brighton Playground in Brooklyn.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called the graffiti "an attack on all of us".
City Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who represents Brighton Beach, questioned whether the hate symbols were "the new normal".
Mr Deutsch, who is also on the Committee of the NYC Jewish Caucus, called for the mayor to set up a "Hate Crime Prevention Office" to deter what he called a "wave of anti-Semitism and hate crimes".
