A woman has died in a crash on the Pacific Highway north of Port Macquarie with the road being closed for four hours.

The Pacific Highway has reopened after a four-vehicle crash that killed a woman and injured two others the NSW mid-north coast.

The collision on Tuesday morning involved a B-Double, two cars and a ute near Telegraph Point, police said, with a female car passenger dying at the scene.

A six-year-old girl and a woman in her 80s were among the injured, a NSW ambulance spokesman told AAP.

The highway was closed for four hours in both directions and reopened about 12.45pm.
