Pair charged over Qld school bomb hoax

A man and a woman are facing bomb hoax-related charges over threats made to a school on Brisbane's southside.

A man and a woman have been charged with bomb hoax-related offences over threats made to a Brisbane college.

Calamvale Community College, on the city's southside, was among numerous Queensland schools to have received threatening calls this week.

Police say a threatening phone call was made to the school around 12.40pm on Wednesday, sparking an evacuation until investigators determined the threat was unsubstantiated.

The man, 22, and woman, 17, have been charged with one count each of using a carriage service for a hoax threat, falsely stating a bomb was present and wilful disturbance.

They are due to face Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police say investigations are continuing and have warned that making a bomb threat is a serious offence that carries a maximum five years' imprisonment.

Police will provide more details about the investigation later on Saturday afternoon.
