Pakistan hold on for three-run T20 win

Pakistan extended their Twenty20 dominance over the West Indies by pinching a three-run victory at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.

Teenage leg-spinner Shadab Khan claimed 4-14 as Pakistan took a 2-0 series lead with a three-run Twenty20 win over the West Indies in Port of Spain.

On the brink of ending a four-match losing run to the tourists, the West Indies fell just short when requiring 14 runs off the final over chasing down Pakistan's 132 all out.

Marlon Samuels provided the backbone of the home side's innings with a breezy 44, before he fell to the last ball of 18-year-old Shadab's masterful spell, edging behind to Sarfraz Ahmed.

Sunil Narine cracked fours from the first two balls of the final over - sent down by Hasan Ali - who then compounded the situation with a wide.

Needing only five runs off three balls, Ali produced a dot ball before Narine was run out, while Jason Holder could only prod a single off the final ball to leave his side on 8-129.

Shoaib Malik led Pakistan with 28 and Babar Azam 27, before No.10 Wahab Riaz flayed death bowlers Kesrick Williams and Carlos Brathwaite for what proved a valuable 24 from 10 balls.

The four-match series continues at the same venue, with matches on Saturday and Sunday.
