Palmeiras win 2-0 to go top of Brazil's Serie A

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - A double from Bruno Henrique gave Palmeiras a 2-0 win over Atletico Mineiro on Sunday and lifted the Sao Paulo club into joint first place in Brazil’s Serie A.

The midfielder scored a minute before the break, then got a second seven minutes into the second period, firing home both times from outside the box.

Atletico started the day in top spot, the only club to have won all three of their first games.

However, Palmeiras’ win takes them into joint pole position with Santos, who beat Vasco da Gama 3-0. Both have 10 points from four games. Atletico fall to third with nine points.
