Palmer to consult wife on Senate tilt

Clive Palmer insists he has to consult his wife before making a decision to seek a seat in the Senate at the July 2 election.

Clive Palmer will ask his wife before he decides whether to make a tilt for the Senate.

The businessman-MP told parliament on Wednesday - just days ahead of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull calling a July 2 election - he would not run again in his lower house seat of Fairfax on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

"If you want a happy a life you want a happy wife," he told Sky News.
