Clive Palmer will make his first campaign appearance in Tasmania and is promising something big to boost hopes of the state's low-income earners.
The Palmer United Party leader is on Wednesday due to make public appearances at Devonport and Launceston alongside his three senate candidates.
"There is widespread consensus that we really need to do something to shake the place up," Mr Palmer told AAP of his plan for Tasmania, which will be revealed on Wednesday.
"There are 25,000 families living under a gross income of $20,000 a year and we really need to create a boom in this state and change the whole economic outlook."
Mr Palmer declined to give away details of his plan for Tassie, but his No.1 senate candidate Kevin Morgan said it's hoped to shift the state's heavy reliance on welfare and attract more private business to the island state.
Mr Palmer has a personal connection to Tasmania, with his mother hailing from Penguin in the state's northwest.
He will be joined on Wednesday by Mr Morgan and fellow senate candidates Justin-Leigh Stringer and Quentin von Stieglitz.
