Clive Palmer's money would be better spent clearing his debts in Queensland rather than on books memorialising his time in parliament, Labor says.
Packages containing two hardcover volumes weighing several kilograms landed on the desks of journalists in the Canberra press gallery on Tuesday.
"I find it absolutely outrageous and quite frankly insulting to my community that I would receive a book, or two books in fact, from Clive Palmer," Queensland Labor MP Cathy O'Toole told reporters on Wednesday.
"Clive Palmer left Townsville in a desperate state with over eight hundred people losing their jobs."
The books detailing Mr Palmer's time in parliament leading the Palmer United Party from 2013 to 2016 reportedly cost $200,000 to produce.

Ms O'Toole said one of her constituents was still owed $27,000 in entitlements from the closure of Mr Palmer's Queensland Nickel company.
The company went into liquidation in 2016.
"If Clive had $200,000 laying around, it would have been a far better spend for him to pay the workers of Townsville their entitlements and the debts that he has in our community," Ms O'Toole said.
