Panthers appoint new CEO

Penrith have appointed former Hawkesbury Race Club boss Brian Fletcher as the club's chief executive who will replace the departing Warren Wilson.

Penrith have gone in-house to find their next chief executive, appointing club chairman Brian Fletcher as the new chief of the Panthers Group.

Fletcher, who was previously CEO of Hawkesbury Race Club, replaces potential NRL CEO candidate Warren Wilson who stepped two weeks ago citing personal reasons.

Fletcher will control all matters relating to the chain of Panthers Leagues clubs and also have an overarching role at the NRL franchise.

The highly-regarded racing official has served on the Panthers board for the past five years and moved into the chairman role last July.

Following his appointment, David O'Neill takes over as chairman and club great Greg Alexander becomes deputy chairman.

"Together we are returning to the values on which this club was founded and refocusing on rugby league as our core business," O'Neill said.
