Panthers' Liam Coleman charged by police

Penrith reserve grade halfback Liam Coleman and Wests Tigers NRL player Zane Musgrove have been charged following an alleged indecent assault at a Coogee hotel.

Penrith reserve grade halfback Liam Coleman has been charged with indecently assaulting a woman as a result of an alleged incident involving Wests Tigers NRL player Zane Musgrove.

Coleman, the son of South Sydney great Craig, and Musgrove were charged with a string of offences including assault with act of indecency and aggravated indecent assault.

"Penrith Panthers is aware of allegations made against Intrust Super Premiership NSW player Liam Coleman," the Panthers said in a statement.

"New South Wales Rugby League has been informed.

"Panthers will allow the court process to run its course and be making no further comment at this time."

The pair were charged after turning themselves in at Maroubra Police Station earlier in the week.

Police said two 22-year-old men had been charged after an alleged incident at a Coogee hotel on November 24.

A 22-year-old woman reported the alleged assault to security guards before making a report to police.

Musgrove and Coleman, former teammates at South Sydney, were granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on January 23 next year.

The Tigers released a statement on Friday, saying the NRL's integrity unit had been informed of the matter.

"Wests Tigers takes its position in the community very seriously and will work with the NRL Integrity Unit and NSW Police on the allegations," the club said.

News of Musgrove and Coleman's arrest followed that of Manly star Dylan Walker, who was charged on Thursday night with assaulting his 24-year-old fiancee at their northern beaches home.
