Manly's injury worries have been eased with the return of Matt Parcell and Brenton Lawrence for their round-eight NRL clash with Newcastle on Anzac Day at Hunter Stadium.

Parcell and Lawrence both missed the Sea Eagles' loss on Thursday night to Parramatta.

Brayden Wiliame also comes into coach Trent Barrett's Manly outfit on the wing for Jorge Taufua who is out for six weeks with a collarbone injury.

Wiliame is yet to enjoy a victory in 13 NRL games for Parramatta and Manly since 2013.

Daly Cherry-Evans hasn't been named as his recovery from an ankle injury continues, but he is considered a chance to play.

Jeremy Smith, Mickey Paea and Danny Levi return for the Knights.

Damien Cook has been added to South Sydney's interchange bench for Friday night's round opener against ladder leaders Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.

Defence is the focus for the Rabbitohs this week after their last-start 44-18 loss to North Queensland.

"It's quite obvious we need to work on our defence, in that disciplinary area," Souths utility Paul Carter said.

"We're giving away too many penalties and that's something we need to address this week and we need to be better against the Broncos."

Greg Bird returns from suspension for Gold Coast's match with Canterbury on Saturday afternoon at ANZ Stadium. Kierran Moseley comes onto an extended bench for the visitors for Daniel Mortimer who has a hamstring complaint.

Sauaso Sue comes back to lock for the struggling Wests Tigers for their trip to the nation's capital to face Canberra on Saturday evening.

Both the Cowboys and the Eels are unchanged for their 1300 Smiles Stadium clash on Saturday night.

Luke Lewis returns from suspension as Cronulla host Penrith on Sunday, with Joseph Paulo falling out of the Sharks' side.

There are no changes to the Sydney Roosters or St George Illawarra sides for their Anzac Day match at Allianz Stadium. Roosters forward Boyd Cordner is considered a good chance to play as his recovery continues from a pectoral injury. Waerea-Hargreaves (knee) is also a chance to take the field.

Tuimoala Lolohea moves from five-eighth to fullback for the Warriors to cover the loss of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to a season-ending knee injury. Thomas Leuluai joins Shaun Johnson in the halves, as was the case in the win over Canterbury. Manu Vatuvei returns on the wing for Monday night's match against Melbourne at AAMI Park.
