Parliament house cleaners launch petition

Striking parliamentary cleaners have launched an online petition calling on the prime minister to support a pay rise.

Cleaners at Parliament House have launched a online petition in their fight for better pay.

The cleaners, who have been on strike since Monday, are asking Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to reinstate guidelines axed by Tony Abbott that protected conditions and pay.

"Please tell their employer Limro you support fair pay for Parliament House cleaners," the petition says.
