Federal parliament has paid tribute to Australian Olympian Sarah Tait who died following a battle with cervical cancer.
The cross-party motion in the Senate on Wednesday said the 33-year-old mother-of-two was an inspiration to all Australians and a role model for mothers in professional sport.
It said the upcoming appointment of advisory board members to the government's Medical Research Future Fund would enable consideration of further research into the detection, prevention and treatment of rare types of cervical cancer.
